Fashion Accessories – Choosing The Correct Spectacles

So, you have to wear spectacles? It is not the end of the world, wearing the right frame can actually cover your imperfect facial features and accentuate to your beauty. What you have to keep in mind is that there are six basic face shapes and you have to choose the proper spectacle frame accordingly.

Oval – An oval shape is considered the perfect shape because of the balanced facial proportions. You can wear any spectacle frame that matches the widest width of your face or walnut shaped frames.

Round – A round face has no angle. To make the face look thinner and longer, choose spectacle frames that are angular or narrow or rectangular shapes.

Long – A long face is oblong and thin but not wide. To make it wider and shorter, opt for spectacle frames that have a low bridge to shorten the nose, frames that are round, have geometric shapes and are deeper but not wider.

Square – A square face has broad forehead and strong, angular jawline. To make the face look thinner and to soften the jawline, choose spectacle frames that are butterfly shaped, round, oval or cat-eye shaped.

Triangle – For a triangular shaped face, opt for rimless glasses, cat-shaped frames which will make the broader part of your face look thinner and emphasize on the narrower part of the face.

Diamond – A diamond face has narrow forehead and broader cheekbones. This is considered the imperfect shape and rarely seen. To give more width to the forehead and make your cheekbones look narrower, try spectacle frames that have round bottoms or square shaped.

Along with the correct frame and style, it is also important to be comfortable.

Shoes are an essential part of our wardrobe and a basic necessity for every individual. Shoes protect our feet, provide support and shoes if worn correctly, according to every occasion can be a fashion accessory as well. Many women need more than a pair to adorn themselves for every event. You may have dressed to kill but a shabby or an incorrect pair of shoes can give the whole appearance a shoddy look. It is important to wear shoes that emphasize style yet it is comfortable.

Gone are the days when you went and bought a pair of shoes from a local store. Today there are malls selling branded shoes which come in every possible shape, size and color. There are many shoe designers who create custom shoes for some people. People don’t wait to think before splurging their hard earned money on an expensive pair of shoes. Shoes can create an important style statement.

Today, every woman owns more than a pair to dress according to every occasion. If it a party, girls night out, date, then heels are preferred. For long walks, loafers or sports shoes are normally preferred as they have flat soles with good grips and very comfortable to walk for longer duration. Flip flops or thongs are preferred for casual wear. As they come in various colors, you could co-ordinate with your dress. Then there are shoes that are worn by people for certain reasons. For e.g. tall boots are worn by people staying in colder climates to protect their feet and enable them to walk. Hiking boots are worn by people staying in mountainous regions.

So, it is important that you wear the correct shoes as per the situation.

Fashion Accessories – Bags

Bags are the most functional item that has been existing for a long time now. Right from the days of the Neanderthal man to the human race today, bags are an essential commodity that is used across all age groups. Bags are used depending on its utility and purpose. There are so many types of bags today that are created, keeping comfort and style in mind.

Baby Bags – These are huge bags that have several compartments to store things like baby liquid, baby oil, baby bottle etc. apart from napkins, wet tissues, diapers, extra pair of clothing, towel etc. Having several compartments makes it easier to store things and remove things, when required.

Purse – These are used by women to store important things like keys, sunglasses, wallet, cards, mobile phones, cosmetics, dairy, pen etc. The kind and size of purse used, varies with each women, depending on the taste and preference of each women. Some women like trendy and big purses whereas some prefer small purses.

Handbags – These are used by working women, college students, and women of all age groups to store all their personal belongings. Again the size and type of handbag will vary with each woman. Handbags can have one or multiple compartments for storage space.

Carry bags – These are used in almost all shops to transport things home. It is advisable to carry your own carry bags as plastic leads to plastic pollution because it is non-degradable. In many countries, there is a ban imposed on the usage of plastic bags.

Clutches – Unlike a purse, a clutch does not have a shoulder strap, needs to be “clutched” . It is used by women at most parties.

Many of us think that high fashion takes a deep pocket but all fashion needs is creativity. You don’t need to have the top name brands or the latest celebrity outfits to dress like a star. Here are a few ideas to take your fashion to a new level while staying in your budget.

Visit the Thrift Store

Thrift store shopping is more work but it pays off when you find the perfect item for a fraction of the price you would pay in the stores. You probably won’t be dying to wear most of the clothes in your local thrift store but if you take the time to pick through grandma’s old sweaters you just might find the perfect addition to your closet.

Re-visit Your Old Clothes

Sometimes you don’t have to buy new clothes to create new outfits. Often we get stuck in a creative block with our old clothes but breaking out of the mold can help us wear our clothes in different ways. There are those few pieces in the back of your closet that might need to be altered or paired with a cute jacket but when they’re ready to be worn in public everyone will think they’re new.

Create Your Own Accessories

Even if you’re not a crafty person, making your own accessories can be easy and most of all, inexpensive. Your local craft store sells just about everything to make your own jewelry. Instead of buying a watch, get a watch face and then create your own beaded watch band to coordinate with your outfits. Buy an ordinary headband and attach feathers of your choice with a glue gun instead of paying for a fashion headband at the store. Use an old tie as your new belt. The possibilities are endless, getting creative can be all your wardrobe needs to add a little more fashion to its drawers.
